Google Launches Its USB Security Key Support

    Search Engine giant has had a great month indeed this October with its release of the new Nexus Line up devices which look simply mind blowing, the release of Android Lollypop is rolling out to older Nexus and Play edition devices and now we get a news that Google has launched its new Security Key device, well you might be wondering what it is the security key is a USB device which can be used to login to you Google account it acts can act as the second step of the two factor authentication.

      The USB security key should be inserted after entering the password, there is a catch in this if some one steel you key what happens nothing much coz they would need an password to access your account and if it the other way around and your friends and some one else finds out your password but then too they would not have the key to login. The USB security key replaceses the 6-digit code that is currently used by Google. This is not a new technology, this has been used by many companies  to keep important data secure for a long time now this is the first time it is used in a so huge consumer application like Google account for the general user.

   So the next question you would get is where you can get one of these USB security keys, since this technology is built on top of open FIDO standards there are many manufacturers buildings these keys for the price ranging from $6 to $50. We could say that this technology will not stop at just USB and we would see this coming to bluetooth and NFC, Hope we get the most secure expriencing in the internet.
