Yes! There are more then <b>34,200 vulnerable Ethereum smart contracts</b> that have been identified by <b>research from National University of Singapore (NUS).</b> What does this means? There is a high chance attackers can exploit these vulnerabilities and go on to <b>steel or freeze the Ether</b> or any other assets associated with the smart contract.<br />

What is a smart contract?<br />

A <b>smart contract </b>is a <b>computer protocol</b> which is intended to digitally facilitate, verify or even enforce the negotiation or performance compliance of a contract between two parties.<br />
<br />
To put simply <b>smart contracts</b> are a piece of code that helps you exchange money, property or anything of values in a transparent way without a middle man.<b> Smart contracts</b> not only defines the rules and penalties around an agreement but also enforce those obligations as well.<br />
<br />
Like any piece of computer code smart contracts are also vulnerable. Back in 2016 a hacker exploited a bug in the smart contracts and <b>stole over $50 million Ether</b> from TheDAO organisation. More recently around November of  last year a GitHub user <b>"Devops199" froze over $285 million Ether</b> inside Parity wallets using one bug he found.<br />

These events triggered a team of researchers from NUS to create a tool to scan <b>Ethereum smart contracts </b>in 2016, they named it "<b>Oyente</b>". <b>Oyente </b>analyzed 19,366 <b>Ethereum smart contracts </b>and discovered that 8,833 of them were vulnerable. But the team's warning about the vulnerabilities of the smart contracts were sadly not taken with the importance it deserved.<br />

After the Parity wallet freezing by "Devops199" led the team to come up with a new scanning tool which was better at-scale scanning and they named it "<b>Maian</b>".  <b>Maian </b>has scanned over a million <b>Ethereum smart contracts</b> and has identified <b>3.5%</b> of them are vulnerable. The team has warned the users of the potential dangers of the smart contracts and have urged the users to analyze the smart contracts for flaws before they go on to put their funds into the <b>smart contracts</b>.<br />

      The USB security key should be inserted after entering the password, there is a catch in this if some one steel you key what happens nothing much coz they would need an password to access your account and if it the other way around and your friends and some one else finds out your password but then too they would not have the key to login. The USB security key replaceses the 6-digit code that is currently used by Google. This is not a new technology, this has been used by many companies  to keep important data secure for a long time now this is the first time it is used in a so huge consumer application like Google account for the general user.<br />

The study group was subjected to many Facebook based phishing attacks and other invasive methods to get them reveal their information. When all this was over and the results where analysed, it was found that the people who said "I feel my Facebook usage has gotten out of control" and "I am addicted to Facebook" were more easily drawn to the phishing attacks than others. The study proves that the habitual users are more like to give in for social pleasures and accept friend request from some one they don't know and also give their personal information.<br />

      Mussler had found this bug in 2003 and had reported to Amazon, the bug was fixed with a week and all went to normal, But couple of months back Mussler had found the bug to have surfaced again in the "Manage your Kindle" web page. This was again reported to Amazon by Mussler, but this time Amazon did not do anything till now and there was no comment from Amazon about this issue. The web page sufers an attack called <b>"Stored Cross Site Scripting Attack". </b>It is further said that the vulnerability is with the illegal E-books only, if some hacker tampers with the E-book and you download that and open it then you will be sending data from your Amazon account to the attacker, But people downloading E-books legally like using Amazon store and all will not be affected as they keep a check on these things. </div>

Jonathan Zdziarski, a  security researcher found out the Messenger app contains lot of spyware like codes when he was security monitoring.<br />

This is not the full story since he was just picking up on the Messenger app and this is just initial thoughts. Zdzriarski also mentioned that the app is particularly logging all the activity the user does inside the app like where they tap what they tap and lots more. He also says that the app also records certain data when it is running in the background also like which app the user uses the WiFi SSID and lots more. This makes us think, these functions are not available for all the developer, so did companies like Apple and Google give Facebook and other big companies some restricted API's which are not given to the normal developers.<br />

     An engineer from the Messenger team responded with tweed to Zdzriarski's accusation by saying that that every data that was collected by the app was purely for improving app by making it fast and efficient.  Then latter that day Facebook came out with an official reply saying the same that they never used the data for any thing illegal and they used it only to make the user experience better and make the app faster and more efficient. They said the accusation was unjustified and privacy is their core approach they also added that this done like any other developer analyzing the usage trend to give better product. They gave an example that they tracked that users were sending a bunch of Like sticker and so they made it easier to send Like sticker in fewer taps. An IIT-Delhi alumnus Sanjam Garg has created a set of tools that gives the secure answer to the problem of making programme code 'unintelligible' while preserving its functionality.<br />

Garg system is made impossible to crack by an attacker if he can not solve a mathematical problem which takes around 100 years to solve using todays modern computers.
